Cancer Pagurus

Crabs are a decapod crustacean, protected by an exoskeleton and armed with a pair of robust, jagged claws. With over 6,700 species of Crab worldwide, they are found in a range of habitats, including: all of the oceans, in freshwater, and even terrestrially on land. As with their habitat, Crab size can vary dramatically. The petite Pea Crab only grows to only a few millimeters wide, whereas the Japanese Spider Crab boasts an almighty leg span of up to 4 meters.

With Crab being cheaper but equally as tasty as Lobster, it’s clear to see why one million tonne of Crab is consumed annually in restaurants and homes around the world. Whether you decide to boil it yourself, or have your local fishmonger prepare it for you, it’s a healthy meat that you can season with butter, lemon or chilli, or experiment with it by adding it to your salads, soups and pasta dishes.

Many of our team have been in the industry since they were old enough to hold a filleting knife. Our collective experience of over 200 years in the fish & seafood industry has allowed us to establish relationships with major suppliers, which means we’re able to source the highest quality produce available for our customers all year round. From the production team, to our drivers, to the skippers and crews who go out daily and catch our fish for market, it’s the passion, skill and knowledge of our people that make My Fish Company the go-to supplier for many chefs throughout the North West.

Fish & seafood is at the heart of everything we do here at My Fish Company. Chefs will spend a lifetime satisfying their passion for food, creating dishes of expression & excellence.
